Kari Bahour has been a drowning prevention specialist for almost 2 decades. After her son experienced a nonfatal drowning at only 16 months of age she began to research the various swim lesson methodologies. She underwent her initial instructor training in 2000 with Infant Swimming Resource (ISR). Areas of study included child psychology, behavioral modification, anatomy and physiology.
In 2008 Kari was selected among a select few to undergo the Master Instructor Training & Development program.
Since 2000, Kari has trained over 20 new instructors in areas across the county. She also served as a mentor, business building coach for ISR. She taught thousands of infants and young children these essential life saving skills.
She founded Water Smart Tots to put an end to the tragic drowning epidemic and ensure ALL children are equipped with aquatic survival skills regardless of financial hardship. Kari is also a member of Safe Kids Greater Tampa, Hillsborough Water Safety Team and the National Drowning Prevention Alliance. For more information about Kari's story, please click here.
Rebecca Pruitt, M.D.
Rebecca Pruitt, M.D. is a board-certified pediatrician. A graduate from Emory University and Texas Tech School of Medicine, she returned home to Florida to complete her residency training in pediatrics at the University of South Florida. She founded Premier Care Pediatrics in Lithia, Florida in 2006. In addition to her involvement with Water Smart Tots, she also volunteers at the Brandon Outreach Clinic. She's a mother of two children, Cole and Mia.
Heather Trkovsky has practiced commercial real estate law for 14 years and currently serves as Assistant General Counsel and Senior Vice President for Citibank. Over the years, Heather has also served on the Boards of various non-profit organizations in the Greater Brandon community, including The Brandon Ballet and Operation Lotus. She also served in various capacities as a member of The Junior League of Tampa from 2008-2018. Heather holds her J.D. from Boston University School of Law, as well as a M.A. in Mass Communication from Boston University. She earned her undergraduate degrees in Economics and Communication for Business from Florida State University. In her free time, Heather loves to spend time with her husband and three sons, all graduates of a survival swimming program.

Emily Rowland received her Master’s in Health Administration from Ohio University and her bachelors in Health Administration from St. Petersburg College. She has worked for DAS Health for the past seven years working her way up to Senior Product Manager where she has gained her experience in project management and product development. Emily enjoys spending time with her husband and water loving infant daughter.
Lori Reyes earned her B.S. degree in Psychology from Missouri Southern State University in 2005. She works for a non-profit agency supporting children with inclusive care who have developmental delays and challenging behaviors. She also owns her own skincare business with Rodan+Fields. Lori is married and has 3 boys who keep her busy with year-round competitive sports. She is very strong in her faith and has many passions including survival swim, adoption, surrogacy, and football.
Chair of Financial Committee
Timothy is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida and a Chartered Global Management Accountant with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Accounting and a Master's Degree in Corporate Accounting from Florida State University, having more than twelve years of experience working in finance, including more than five years with a 'Big Four' public accounting firm and over seven years working in industry for large and publicly traded companies in the United States and abroad. Timothy is also currently a member of the AICPA and FICPA in good standing
Timothy has extensive experience working in the area of nonprofit organizations including five years serving as independent financial statement auditor to one of Florida's largest not-for-profit healthcare companies, and seven years serving on the board of directors of Paint Your Heart Out Tampa, a voluntary health and welfare organization in the Tampa Bay area.
Timothy resides in Lakewood Ranch, Florida with his wife, Elizabeth, and their three young children, Charlie, Oliver and Caroline.
Francine Dupuis (“Fran”) has spent 8 years in the promotional products business and currently serves as the Vice President-Legal at BIC Graphic NA, one of the largest suppliers in the promotional products industry and a leader in product safety, quality assurance, social responsibility, supply chain security and environmental stewardship. Fran joined BIC Graphic after spending 5 years as in-house counsel for Catalina Marketing Corporation and 5 years in private practice. Fran earned her J.D. from Florida State University College of Law, Cum Laude, and her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. Fran is a registered patent attorney and admitted to practice law in Florida & U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida. Fran also served as the Legal Chair for The Junior League of Tampa from 2014-2017.
Andrew Yick, M.D.
Andrew Yick, M.D. practices as a Board Certified Emergency Physician at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He attended the University of South Florida College of Medicine and did his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children's Medical Centers. He enjoys playing golf in his spare time. He is married with three children and resides in Hillsborough County.
Rebecca Goodman Secretary
Rebecca Goodman is an Assistant Principal at Webb Middle School. She has over 17 years of administrative and teaching experience. She has four children and four grandchildren. Her undergraduate degree is in Elementary Education and her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership.
Kimberly Lasher earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Frostburg State University in Political Science, Criminal Justice and Sociology and her Master of Arts degree from the University of South Florida in Criminal Justice Administration. Prior to becoming a stay at home mom, Kimberly worked in various positions with several social service agencies. Over the past few years, she served on the board of directors of her HOA and a local non-profit organization. She is married with three daughters, all of whom are graduates of survival swims lessons. Kimberly enjoys spending time with her family, frequent trips to Disney World and volunteering at her daughters’ schools.
